She was designed by the venerable firm of John G. Alden Naval Architects. She is one of only six in the world, and the only one to feature a taller rig, yet is still ICW friendly with a bridge clearance of 63 1/2’. This coupled with her full-keel shoal draft (only 5’5”) allows her to go essentially anywhere. She is a stout off-shore cruiser with that regularly makes the trip from New York to Florida and back. Yet she is nimble enough to transit shallow waters for gunkholing small harbors and creeks. Her dual Hood Stowaway masts (replaced in 1996) and new Selden roller furling makes sail handling a breeze by one or two people. She has been constantly improved over the past decade with recent upgrades including a 9KW Northern Lights Generator, Victron 3000W inverter / charger with 900W Solara solar panels, Vetus 24Volt thruster, Maxwell 3500 windlass with chain counter and cockpit controls, 3 Dometic Air Conditioning units, Ray Axion chartplotter with radar overlay, Ray Marine sailing instruments, AIS, autopilot, main mast standing rigging, running rigging, custom yacht boarding stairs, and cockpit enclosure. Recent safety equipment include off-shore storm windows, Viking 6 person off-shore liferaft, Man Overboard system, two EPIRBs, jacklines, and tethers.
