ACHATES is a 26' traditional design by Carl Alberg. Under sail she is a joy to sail with lively performance but also with comfortable seaworthy motion. I have frequently sailed her singlehanded. Her outboard operates in a well that is within easy reach of the helmsman and is stowed out of the water when not in use. She has 4 berths in 2 cabins, a small but workable galley and a portable head. Poor health and 83 birthdays convinced me I need to sell her.
