Afton is a 35-foot wood cabin cruiser built in 1935 by Neil Banks at the Kruse & Banks shipyard in North Bend, OR. Her cabin house was redesigned in the 1950s by Ed Monk Sr. Powered by a six cylinder diesel engine which sips about 2/3 of a gallon/hour. She was hauled for an insurance survey in May 2025, which located two small areas of soft wood. Both were immediately replaced. Fasteners also pulled and checked, still in excellent condition (substantial refastening was done in 2014). Transmission rebuilt and major mechanical overhaul of entire drive train in late 2025 / early 2026…
