Selling my J/27 (ongoing shoulder injury), “Second Wind” is a great example of J Boats sweet spot for a club racer. The J/27 is especially well known for being the perfect compromise for "Family cruiser" and "One design racer", boat does both very well. With 2 settees and a large V-berth with padded upholstery, it's both comfortable as an over-nighter, and stable for short-handed sailing. Given her fractional rig (smaller headsail, large main) she is easy to short hand and single hand. I have done several club races single handed, and racing typically add 1-3 crew.
