Anchor wars: is a new-generation anchor really worth 4x the price of my old plow?

The forums treat anchor brands like religions. My 30-year-old plow has dragged exactly twice (both my fault, honestly). The new-gen roll-bar anchors cost 4x. Owners who switched: placebo or revelation?

Switched after dragging in a 2am squall. The difference isn't holding power in good bottom — it's the RESET when the wind clocks 180°. Old plow breaks out and skates; the new ones flip and rebury before you're awake. That one behavior is worth the money if you anchor out a lot.

Math version: $700 anchor ÷ 10 years = $70/season for noticeably better sleep. My genset burns that monthly. Easiest gear decision I've made.

The unsexy truth nobody monetizes: whatever anchor you have, more chain and 7:1 scope beats upgrading the lump on the end. THEN upgrade the lump.
