Dock etiquette: the unwritten rules — let's write them down

Question

New dock neighbors clearly never got the memo (there is no memo — that's the problem). So let's make the memo. I'll start:

1. If you borrow a hose, coil it back the way you found it.
2. Music stays on YOUR boat after sunset.
3. Walking the dock at 7am? Great. Running your blower at 7am? You monster.

4. If you see a boat dragging or lines chafing, you say something / fix it / call them. Dock karma is real and it compounds.

5. Don't critique a docking until the boat is tied up. THEN you may critique the docking (kidding — offer to catch a line instead, the critique happens at the bar).

6. Your 50A cord does not get unplugged so someone can 'borrow' the pedestal. Saw an actual fistfight over this.
